Abstract:

Plastic hinge properties play a crucial role in predicting the nonlinear response of structural elements. The plastic hinge region of reinforced concrete normal beams has been previously studied experimentally and analytically. The main objective of this research is to evaluate the behavior of the plastic hinge region of reinforced concrete deep beams and its comparison with normal beams through finite element simulation. To do so, ten beams contain six deep beams, and four normal beams, under concentrated and uniformly distributed loading, are investigated. Lengths in the plastic hinge region involving curvature localization, rebar yielding, and concrete crushing zones are studied. The results indicate that the curvature localization zone is not suitable for the prediction of plastic hinge length in reinforced concrete deep beams. Based on the results it can be stated that in simply supported normal beams the concrete crushing zone is focused on the middle span, but in simply supported deep beams by creating a compression strut between loading place and support, the concrete crushing zone spreads along the compression trajectory. The rebar yielding zone of simply supported beams increases as the loading type is changed from the concentrated load at the middle to the uniformly distributed load.

Abstract:

Nowadays, Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) is considered as one of the common diseases of mankind. CRF threatens the well being and health of patients. One of the main stressors that the patients with CRF may experience is the continuous and permanent treatment with dialysis. Also, as the treatment takes time and is invasive, patients frequently lose their jobs. The main objective of this descriptive study was to evaluate the relation of coping strategies with psychological complications in hemodialysis patients. A total of fifty – five patients were randomly selected and the information was collected using a questionnaire and a standard from of  SCI90. The results showed that there was a significant correlation between coping methods of escape and depression, aloofness and aggression, pickiness nature, depression and sensitivity.(p< 0.05). Therefore, a significant correlation exists between psychological complications and coping methods.

Abstract:

The present research studied the (causal, contextual, and intervening) conditions, strategies, and consequences of violence in the lives of child wives in Chabahar city, conducted with a qualitative methodology based on grounded theory. For this purpose, in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with 28 child-married girls in Chabahar city who were selected through theoretical sampling and snowball method. The analysis of the data in the framework of the three-level open, axial and selective coding system showed that gendered inequality and discrimination, women's inferiority, men's value, the culture of silence and the culture of violence play a role in the experience of child-wives in terms of violence (causal conditions), which leads to a type of increased, double violence for them (core category); violence that operates within the framework of the family institution, the main mechanism of which are previous traditions and rules, and the perpetrators of which are men and women who were themselves the victims of the same traditions and rules that they have, now, internalized and used again against their daughters. This increased violence happens in a context where patriarchy is widespread (contextual conditions) and due to the generalized self-deprecation among child wives (intervening conditions), they may attempt to escape, get separated, threaten, and commit suicide (strategies), and these actions have consequences such as symbolic, physical, and sexual violence and even social isolation (consequences).

Abstract:

In this paper, two control strategies are proposed for distributed generation inverter (DGI) to control 1) active power exchange with the grid, 2) load voltage and 3) grid current. The main goal in these strategies is supplying local load with a standard sinusoidal voltage in the presence of grid voltage distortions and load current nonlinearity. In conventional DGIs, the load is directly and without intermediate impedance connected to the grid; thus, the possibility of load feeding with appropriate voltage quality is hindered in the grid connected mode. In order to overcome this deficiency, DGI with an LC-L filter topology and two control strategies are presented in this paper to supply the local load with standard voltage and to exchang power with the grid, simultaneously. In the first control strategy, the local load is supplied with pure sinusoidal voltage and grid current quality is not important. In the second control strategy, load voltage waveform and grid current waveform are controlled by adding appropriate harmonics to load voltage. For the implementation of the mentioned control strategies, a cascade power-voltage-current control structure has been proposed. A new controller has been introduced in the stationary reference frame for the voltage loop which gives the opportunity for compensation and tracking of harmonics without the need for complex and vast calculations. Test results under nonlinear load and non-ideal grid conditions validate that the proposed method can supply the local load with a standard voltage, inject power to the grid, and also control the grid current.

Abstract:

Today, one of the most important challenges of power network operators and designers is to find a suitable solution to deal with the increasing presence of distributed generations in distribution networks for abnormal operating conditions such as fault conditions. The existence of environmental and economic advantages of distributed generations has led to the expansion of the use of distributed resources, especially renewable resources, and as a result, changes in the topology of the power system and becoming an active network at the level of the distributed network. Despite the existence of many advantages of distributed resources, this issue has caused disruption in the performance of the protection equipment of the distribution network to the point where the conventional methods of modifying the protection settings are not responsive. In this article, there is a comprehensive review on new solutions in the field of modifying and restoring the protection system of distribution networks in the presence of distributed generations. For this purpose, the performance of the protection system has been evaluated. Also, through the general classification of studies conducted in this field, the weak points or strengths of each of the study groups as well as the proposed strategies have been determined.

Abstract:

The smart energy management system as a powerful tool is implemented to manage both demands and generation units. The energy management problem in a Microgrid is usually formulated as a nonlinear optimization problem. According to nonlinear and discreet nature of the problem, solving it by a centralized method requires high computational capabilities. In this paper, two distributed energy management system called Alternating Direction Method of multiplier Predictor (ADMM) and Corrector Proximal Multiplier (PCPM) have been investigated in order to jointly schedule the central controller as well as local controllers. The algorithms consider optimal power flow equations within the distributed energy management problem. The proposed distributed algorithms have been investigated on a typical MG and the efficiency of the algorithm has been evidenced through case studies. Simulation results show that the proposed method decreases the operational cost of MG. Also, the results evidenced that the ADMM has been converged faster and provided a lower operation cost if compared to the PCPM.

Abstract:

This paper presents a detailed circuit analysis and PWM implementation of a fuel cell based Z-source converter using L and C components. The Z-source converter uses the shoot-through that simultaneously turns on both power switches in a leg in order to boost a DC-link voltage. A discrete time state space model of the Z-source converter is given for DSP implementation. Also, a modified space vector pulse width modulation is described in detail for stepping up the DC-link voltage and generating a sinusoidal AC output voltage. To verify the effectiveness of the analyzed circuit model and modified space vector PWM technique, simulation results using Matlab/Simulink will be presented under an open-loop control and a closed loop control.
